Woman`s Throat Slashed, Her Baby Kidnapped

In a disturbing case of slashing and kidnapping in the Midwest, a woman in St. Louis, Missouri allowed a woman into her home, ostensibly for the visitor to use her phone, only to have her own throat slashed and her eight-day-old baby daughter taken from her. A child, one year old son, was also in the home at the time, but was left unharmed by the female kidnapper. An Amber Alert has gone out throughout the state, but police have little to go on and the kidnapper did not apparently have a car.

After the kidnapper left, the slashed woman staggered to a neighbor?s house ? a feat described as amazing for a woman in her condition by local law enforcement and emergency personnel in the area ? who called 911. The suspect is a white female, between 30-40 years old, about five feet eight inches tall and weighs in the neighborhood of 200 pounds. According to the injured woman, who was in stable condition, the kidnapper was wearing a baseball cap, brown T-shirt and blue jean shorts.

The woman?s husband was at work at the time, and family members sent out a desperate plea to the kidnapper to return the child unharmed. It is suspected that the inability of the kidnapper to have a baby is a possible motive, as sometimes a woman will pretend to be pregnant with her partner?s child but in fact just kidnap a baby when a situation presents itself.
