Tiger Woods Goes for Five Consecutive Wins
It seems that the king of golf is looking to win five consecutive events on the PGA tour. On the tenth anniversary since turning professional, Tiger Woods looks to move ahead by winning his fifth straight event this weekend at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston. Oddsmakers at one of the leading gambling sports book sites online have him at 6-5 odds to do so. Golf fans, it seems, began this betting frenzy long ago, and are now waiting to see the results of this major event.
?With Tiger, it`s not just the fact that he`s winning, but its how he`s doing it. The second place effort by Shaun Micheel at the PGA Championship, where he shot a -13, would have won the last four PGAs - but Woods crushed him by five strokes,? said Alex Czajkowski of the gambling site. The Labor Day battle in Beantown is the next prize in Woods` sights, with the ultimate prize surely being the all time record of 82 titles, held by Sam Snead, and 18 majors, held by Jack Nicklaus. Gambling fans have probably made wagers on whether or not Tiger will be able to break these records.
At 10-1, gambling fans have Wood`s closest contender this weekend according to the odds is Adam Scott (the 2003 winner). Defending champion Olin Browne is a 75-1 bet to repeat. Golf fans everywhere are watching Tiger closely, whether they are a fan of his or not. No matter what, it seems that golf fans bet on him as well. This is definitely a special time in the history of this loved sport.
