TomKat Couple Announces Italy Wedding in November

Actor Tom Cruise and fianc?e Katie Holmes have announced that they will be getting married in Italy on November 18, 2006. Cruise, 44, and Holmes, 27, shared in the birth of daughter Suri Cruise on April 18 of this year. Both actors had movies about to be released in 2005 when they reportedly got together in Rome, Italy, and two months later they announced their engagement. Cruise is known for his outspoken Scientology beliefs, and Holmes converted upon their becoming a couple.

The wedding date was confirmed by Arnold Robinson, spokesman for Mr. Cruise. Last year, Cruise was about to release the film ?War of the Worlds?, directed by Steven Spielberg, while Holmes was starring in ?Batman Begins?. Their coupling was largely derided in the media as a stunt to gain publicity before the release of their films, but Ms. Holmes disappeared for a time and announced her conversion to Scientology. Tom Cruise made a much-mocked appearance on the ?Oprah? show, in which he jumped on a couch declaring his love for Holmes.

Katie Holmes reportedly idolized Tom Cruise growing up, and some might say that as much as Tom Cruise snagged a beautiful woman, Ms. Holmes really snagged her dream man. Tom Cruise was previously married to Mimi Rogers ? who reportedly turned him on to Scientology as well as Nicole Kidman. He was also connected to the actress Penelope Cruz for a time. Holmes, of ?Dawson?s Creek? fame, was at one time engaged to actor Chris Klein. In September, the couple posed with their daughter for the first time in Vanity Fair magazine.
