Texas Car Dealer Pulls Weapon on Customer
Many Americans who live outside of Texas have their own opinions of what goes on in the Lone Star State, but when some news comes out of there you just have to shake your head in wonder. In the city of Tyler, a 73-year-old owner of a used car dealership was arrested last week after allegedly pulling out a machete on one of his customers and taking it to his arm. That might be seen as undue pressure on the customer.
After the incident, the customer went to the police department, carrying the machete with him, and said he was attacked. The victim, Gerald Davis, 53, said the car dealership owner, Robert Parker, brought out the machete during an argument. Davis is being treated for the wound, but police did not provide further details.
Police said Mr. Davis had bought a car form the dealership and returned to pick up his license plates, but that they did not know what the argument was about. Mr. Parker was arrested last Monday, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to local media, he is being held on a $50,000 bond.
