Another Ultranationalist Riot Hits Moscow
The problems of nationalism have been the center of attention lately in Russia, and the rising xenophobia has concerned several liberal politicians in Russia. On November 4th approximately 2,000 ultranationalists have marched down the center streets of Moscow protesting the increase of dark-skinned immigrants form the former Soviet republics, which were referred to as "blacks" and waving flags of radical political parties.
The problem of hate crimes and attacks on Jews, foreigners and immigrants from Caucasus has become an incredibly important issue in Russia today. Numerous politicians are concerned about the growing intolerance of foreigners. Analysts state that the reason of such intolerance is connected to the collapse of the Soviet Union that triggered hostility of the society toward the millions of migrant workers that came to the relatively economically successful Russia.
Several large cities in Russia have witnessed the ultranationalist marches and riots that resulted in numerous problems with the police, when numerous young men were taken into custody. Those riots are dangerous for numerous reasons, not only the migrant workers that come under attack are bound to react in an aggressive fashion, bit the riots that always take place in public places can result in several damages of both the property in aggression.
