Fresh Violence in Iraq Leaves Casualties

Insurgent attacks left dozens dead in Iraq including 2 reporters from CBS. Another reporter was badly injured and in serious condition. A suicide attack on a US convey left dozen dead including two reporters for US news outlet CBS. Kim Dozier, a veteran reporter who has been in Iraq reporting for over 3 years was badly hurt in the attack.

A total of 96 journalists have been killed in the Iraq war and the number of U.S. troops killed is 2,467. The violence since the US invasion of Iraq has not subsided and this new attacks draws fears of more sectarian violence on the way.

The 39-year-old journalist is in critical but stable condition with shrapnel to the head and lower body injuries, after a car bomb exploded Monday in Iraq. It was specifically targeting US forces.
