McDonald`s Tragedy Involves 5 Family Members
Three young children, and their mothers, were run over by a driver in a McDonald`s parking lot. The driver, who was described as `smiling` while he ran over the family in the parking lot of a McDonald`s restaurant in Georgia, is claimed to suffer from a mental illness, according to his mother. The 36-year-old, Lanny Barnes, was arrested by police after they physically forced him out through the passenger-side front door.
The two-year-old girl is in critical condition while the 3 and 4 year old boys are in stable condition. The 33 and 36-year-old mothers of the children are in stable condition. McDonald`s employee, Ryan Boldman-Snyder, says he heard screaming, adding that Barnes was `smiling the whole time.`
Witnesses say Barnes went over a curb as the victims exited the restaurant. Police say he hit them before backing up and hitting them again. Assistant Police Chief Almond Turner says, `All indications are that he intentionally hit them.`
