Hillary: GOP Members Obsessed With Me

According to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Dem.-NY, senior White House advisor Karl Rove, national GOP Chairman Ken Mehlman, and other prominent Republicans are trying to divert attention from problems within their own party by focusing on her future political choices. The comments were made in reaction to a new book that quotes Rove - as stated before, President George W. Bush`s chief political strategist - saying that Senator Clinton will be the 2008 Democratic Party nominee for president.

In a new book by Bill Sammon released this past Monday, called "Strategy", Mr. Rove is quoted as having said that "Anybody who thinks that she (Clinton) is not going to be the candidate in 2008 is kidding themselves." "Strategy," was released this past Monday from Regency Publishing.

Speaking on WROW-AM radio in Albany, the state capital of New York, Mrs. Clinton remarked that "Karl Rove is a brilliant strategist. So, if I were thinking about this. I`d say, why are they spending so much time talking about me? What they`re hoping is that all of their missteps, which are now numbering in the hundreds, are going to somehow be overlooked because people, instead of focusing on the midterm elections this year, will jump ahead and think about the next one."
