Canadian Terrorism Charges Brought Against 6 Men

Police swept through Toronto suburbs in order to arrest 6 main operatives in a terror sweep. The RCMP says that it netted 6 main terrorist who were planning an attack or several attacks in southern Ontario, Canada. In total, 17 people were arrested of which 5 were juveniles.

Canada passed stricter terrorism laws after 9/11 and this allowed them to monitor the actions and conversation of some of the men in the group of alleged terrorists that were arrested. The RCMP has been following some of the leads since 2005. So far no exact details of the targets in the plot have been made public yet.

So far the adults in the case, the oldest of which is 43, have been charged with "knowingly participating, directly or indirectly, in the activity of a terrorist group." The charges against the five juveniles have not yet been made public as they fall under different protection laws in Canada because they are juveniles.
