Iran Refuses to Cooperate with U.N.
The US and other major world powers recently put forth a secret offer to the Iranians in which they would be compensated for not developing nuclear fuel. But Iran says they will publish the offer going against a specific request by the UN to keep the document out of the public sphere.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared in that "threats and intimidation will not stop us. We will record the talks and we will publish them at the appropriate time, so our people will be informed about the details." The five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council plus Germany have agrred to the conditions set forth in the package.
Ahmadinejad went on to defend Iran`s refusal to cease enriching uranium as a condition to formal negotiations, saying "the Iranian nation`s right to nuclear technology and power is legal and definite, and we will not talk about these issues."
