Canadian RCMP Make Terror Arrests

In one of the biggest cases of attempted terror attacks in Canada, the RCMP have made several arrests and have named suspects. This is not the first time Canada has had terorists planning on their soil. In 2000 residents of Montreal were caught with a plan to blow up LAX.

The suspects are all Canadian with backgrounds from several countries in the Middle East. They were mostly fromt he greater Toronto area. They were caught with fertilizer which is known for being used in homemade bombs. It is not clear if the target had been identified.

"An attack on Canadian soil is now probable," Canada`s spy agency warned Parliament last month. A top official of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service last week repeated the warning to senators, emphasizing the threat posed by terrorists born and bred in Canada.
