Police Raid Fraud Squad in Kenya

Police in Nairobi, Kenya have made several arrests in connection with a possible fraud squad operating there including a group of known criminals who have been using other peoples Visa cards. In total 77 arrests were made. U.S. authorities and Kenyan police made the recent arrests.

The fraud team was known to be operating in and around the U.S. embassy in Nairobi. They were putting in false claims for U.S. visas and stating that the winners of visa lotteries had more children then they actually did, allowing more people to win the U.S. visas.

Heavily armed policemen and plain-clothes officers raided the U.S. consular office in the Gigriri district. Kenyans paid thousands of dollars to get paired up with lottery winners.
