Fresh Charges of Iraqi Prisoner Abuse
New charges have come to light against one prison guard in a US run Iraqi prison for terror suspects. A guard has been charged with abusing a prisoner when he let a dog bark in his face. An Army Dog Handler was found guilty of more abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison when he let a dog bark only inches from a prisoners face.
This is just another in a series of charges against guards abusing inmates in the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Sgt. Santos A. Cardona to 90 days hard labor and a reduction in rank and was fined $600 of his salary a month for one year.
The public was made aware of some of the abuses taking place in the U.S. run Iraqi prison when photos were published of prisoners being humiliated and abused by guards. Cardona will return to Ft. Bragg N.C. where officers will decide which kind of hard labor he be sentenced to.
