Wondering Where the War Will Lead

With Israel under rocket attacks and Lebanon subject to the daily bombing runs of the Israel Air Force, where will the current war in the Mideast lead? If a cease-fire is gained before Israel can deliver any sort of a knockout punch to the Hezbollah terrorist group, and somehow restrict the ability of Syria or Iran to unduly influence or outright take over Lebanon, then a future Middle East war will be assured. More people will die in the future because of what has happened, so long as a cease-fire is sought before the job can be necessarily finished.

Who is to blame in all of this? The obvious answer, of course, is Syria and Iran. While Lebanon gets bombed back to the Stone Age, Damascus and Tehran sit comfortably, offering empty pledges of support for Lebanon and the Hezbollah terrorists while Jews, Christians, Muslims and Druze in Israel and Lebanon die or are maimed. The sad fact of the matter is that Israel is conducted a war against only a third of her enemies that she needs to attack. The other two-thirds, of course, are Syria and Iran.

Without those two countries being shown the costs that their ways incur, future wars will make every shell fired, every bomb dropped, every Katyusha launched and every life lost pointless. This war must result in a changed Middle East, otherwise the Middle East might not see a chance for change again for a very, very long time.
