Miss USA Given Second Chance

In an emotional press conference, Donald Trump announced that the present Miss USA, Tara Connor, would be allowed to keep her crown, despite being accused of behavior that was deemed inappropriate for a reigning queen. Connor, who is supposed to serve as a role model to the rest of country, was found drinking heavily in bars across New York, even though she is underage and thus should not be entering establishments that sell alcohol.

Donald Trump owns the Miss Universe Organization along with NBC and, as such, has the power to make Tara Connor step down if he sees it as the best move. However, Trump was willing to give Miss USA another chance. With a tearful Connor at his side, Trump said at the press conference, "I`ve always been a believer in second chances." He went on to say that many young people left small towns across the United States to try and grab a piece of stardom in the big cities, and somehow landed up blinded by fame and acting irresponsibly.

Tara Connor will go into rehabilitation for her drinking problem, Trump said. Clearly grateful to her benefactor and the entire Miss USA team, Connor said, ?In no way did I think it possible that a second chance be given to me. You?ll never know what this means to me and I swear I will never let you down.? If Trump had decided not to forgive Connor, the first runner-up in the pageant, Miss California, Tamiko Nash would have been crowned Miss USA in her place.
