Medical Research shows that Indian Men need Smaller Condoms
A study, which researched the needs of over 1000 Indian men, revealed an interesting conclusion: Indian men required condoms that were generally smaller than what was available on the market, made according to international standards. As such, there has been a call by medical groups to have smaller condoms made more widely available to the public. India has the highest number of HIV infections in the world and experts say that it is imperative that condoms fit well in order to prevent a further spread of the disease.
Over a period of two years, 1200 men had their penises measured down to the last millimeter. Findings showed that 60% of the men had penises at least 3-5 cm shorter than what condom manufacturers base their size measurements on. In addition, many Indian men were not aware that different condom sizes are available or were too embarrassed to request small sizes.
The solution to this problem, it seems, is the dispensing of more condom vending machines around the country, with a wider variety of sizes available. Not everyone is bothered about the findings put out by the Indian Council of Medical Research, however. The former editor of a popular Indian men?s magazine snubbed the findings by saying, ?"It`s not size, it`s what you do with it that matters. From our population, the evidence is Indians are doing pretty well.?
