Wal Mart says thanks to workers, kind of

Wal Mart is the largest retailer in the world and the second largest corporation behind Exxon Mobile. It has 1.3 million workers in thousands of stores, both in the United States and in many countries outside its borders. Faced with public demonstrations over their employment policies and global expansion, Wal Mart has decided to take action and please its workers. But what action did they opt for, and what results it will bring are certainly debatable.

Wal-Mart managers are to meet with 10 workers of every store, once a week and give them the chance to voice their comments and opinions. The multi-billion dollar company would also give a 10 percent discount on a single item during the holidays to all its employees, in addition to the 10 percent discount they normally are entitled for.

The new Wal Mart policy is their "way of saying thank you? to workers, as the program states. It even includes a special polo shirt for workers who are with the company for 20 years. This approach, if it does not defeat expectations and actually does eventually improve labor relations in the companies international stores, would at the very least be a source of polo shirts that can sell online for collector`s item`s prices.
