Kidnap Victims Found Dead In South America
Venezuelan investigators found the bullet-ridden bodies of three Canadian boys, who had been kidnapped more than a month ago in the South American country, earlier this week on Tuesday. The boys were identified as 17-year-old John Faddoul, along with his brothers Kevin, 13, and Jason, 12.
Also found was the body of their 30-year-old driver-guide, Miguel Ribas. Justice Minister Jesse Chacon said, "We lament, despite the efforts that were made 24 hours a day since this started, that we have not been able to prevent such an abominable homicide."
The boys were abducted on February 23, and a ransom of millions of dollars was demanded, officials said. According to judicial police chief Marco Chavez, the victims were shot to death at least two days before their bodies were found.
