Amtrak Train Hits Car
An Amtrak Acela train collided with a car at an eastern Connecticut railroad crossing Wednesday morning. There was no word yet on any casualties.
According to local TV stations, the accident occurred just before 8 a.m. on the southbound tracks. Television footage shows the engine of the train resting on the wreckage of a white car.
A medical helicopter was sent to the scene. There are no immediate reports of injuries. The Acela is Amtrak`s high-speed express train operating between Boston and Washington.
