Schwarzenegger expected to seek re-election

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger this last week did not come right out and say that he would run for re-election in 2006, but gave out clues that left few observers thinking that he wouldn?t. The comments he made came at an event being held to allow the governor to speak about issues he is promoting in an upcoming special election ballot to take place on November 8 of this year. ?I?m not in this just for the short term. I believe very strongly in follow through,? Schwarzenegger told a supporter at an event on Wednesday when asked by that supporter if he?d have a chance to vote for the ?Governator? again. ?You sent me to Sacramento to fix a broken system and that`s exactly what I?m going to do.? Aides for the Governor in Sacramento stated that the official announcement fromGov. Schwarzenegger as to whether he would or would not be running for re-election in California would come Friday at a speech he is to give in San Diego. In the upcoming November special ballot, Schwarzenegger is promoting three measures aimed at curbing the power of Democratic legislators as well as public employee unions.
