Family of Murdered Children Visit Site of Burial
Family members plan to visit the site of the two children who were murdered by their father two years ago. The two children were discovered there last week. Previously authorities been unable to locate the bodies of 14-year-old Sarah Gehring and 11-year-old Philip Gehring after their father, Manuel Gehring, murdered them after a Fourth of July fireworks show. He buried their bodies along Interstate 80, but was unable to tell authorities their exact location. Shortly after being jailed for the murders, he committed suicide.
The bodies were discovered by Stephanie Dietrich, after her dog led her to the site. The children`s bodies were identified by the medical examiner`s office in Summit County, Ohio.
Teri Knight, the children`s mother, had been searching for the children?s bodies since that time. Knight`s husband, Jim Knight, told reporters Saturday that they were still making decisions on where the children would be buried. He said the family will probably have the bodies cremated and bring the ashes home to New Hampshire.
