Amazon Brake `Best Ever` Shopping Record Again

Online retailer Amazon received more than 4 million orders during December 11, making the 2006 holiday season the busiest day ever for the company. The last record was 3.6 million orders and it was set during the previous holiday season of 2005. Amazon shipped about 99 percent of all orders in time to meet the holiday deadline, and is again reporting its "best ever" shopping spree. This has been Amazon`s 12th holiday season, and judging by past years, there are more people shopping online than ever.

The holiday season is known for its high shoppers traffic, and most of the big companies release their new products during this time of the year. People have many reasons to shop during the last weeks of the Year. Just to illustrate how high the demand is, Amazon sold 1,000 Xbox 360 gaming consoles in merely 29 seconds during one of the holiday promotions. People want to buy, and Amazon is giving them exactly what they need.

People`s schedules are becoming busier every year, and many people do not have time to go out and look for the right presents. Shopping takes time, and Amazon offers a comfortable and quick way of finding what you need in little time. The fact that the site guarantees delivery prior to the actual holiday makes it almost impossible to resist the easy shopping process. Amazon`s deals for the holidays are another great contributor to the fact, and as Amazon becomes better at offering targeted promotions, there will be more people that shop online.
