New Version of Mozilla Firefox to be Launched Soon
Mozilla`s browser Firefoxis going through a very important upgrade this year. As a part of this improvement, the new version , Firefox 2.0, will be launched soon. Mozilla had posted notes on its site`s developers` page saying that the new Firefox 2.0 RC1 is ready to go and that "the QA testing for RC1 is complete". Several beta versions have already been tried in the case of Firefox 2.0, while the last one, Beta 2, was released a few months ago. The release date of the final version is not set by Mozilla yet.
Before the final version there will be at least one more trial version, according to Mozilla`s director of engineering Mike Schroepfer, who wrote on the company`s site: "We have a handful of bugs that look reasonable to cause a FF2 RC2", in an attempt to encourage the company stuff to work harder. In comparison with the previous version of Mozilla`s web browser, Firefox 1.5 that was released at the end of last year, Firefox 2.0 has a few additions and advances.
The improvements include spell checking, anti-phishing alerts, suggested searches and session restore. The open-source browser will be released as RC1 in versions for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux in around 50 restricted editions and it will later compete with Microsoft`s Internet Explorer 7, that is now also in Release Candidate form. Users can download Firefox 2.0 RC1 from the Mozilla official site starting the next few days.
