Microsoft: Vista is good For European Economy
As it is said in the recent Microsoft`s market research report, Vista would create 50,000 new jobs as well as maintain more than 1 million jobs in six European country markets in France, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Spain and the UK. The report is supposed to help the company in the constant war with the European Commission over the Vista operating system.
According to IDC the new operating system will be a major revenue driver, reaching 32 billion euros ($40.6 billion U.S. dollars). Microsoft is planning to release Vista to retail stores in January and to corporate IT customers in November. IDC`s research director Marcel Warmerdam said in a statement: "Windows Vista will be an important launch for Microsoft. But it will be an even more important launch for a much larger and more extensive community around the world."
Microsoft and European regulators have been arguing for months over numerous issues. The EC has warned Microsoft lately that Vista could create a new monopoly. It also urged Microsoft to avoid tying features like security software into Vista, for instance.
