Jim Hogan - a Chairman of DFM

Jim Hogan, veteran EDA executive, has been appointed chairman of design-for-manufacturability (DFM)-focused startup Ponte Solutions Inc. Hogan has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including senior executive positions at EDA, semiconductor intellectual property, semiconductor equipment and fabrication companies. He was a general partner at Telos Venture Partners before the company was dissolved by Cadence Design Systems Inc. last year.

Hogan joined the technical advisory board of EDA startup Dafca Inc. less than a month ago, he also sits on several other boards. Alex Alexanian, CEO of Ponte (Mountain View, Calif.) said: "Jim is the quintessential activist board member providing strategic advice in strategy, fundraising, personnel and other issues that are of vast importance to Ponte Solutions at this stage of our development".

Hogan was previously a senior vice president of business development of Artisan Components. He also served as senior vice president of business development and the senior member of the office of chief technologist at Cadence. He was a Cadence Executive Fellow and held several executive positions during his tenure.
