Cisco`s Partners will Become Security Masters
Microsoft and Cisco Systems executives have decided that security solution providers should make some bold moves. Cisco is calling on some of their partners to style their businesses in order to become security specialists. All that as part of Cisco`s efforts to meet the growing demand for complex security solutions.
Cisco and Microsoft are also calling on security partners to get a jump start organizing network access control solutions based on interoperable technologies from the two vendors. Cisco is launching this week its Master Security specialization, the first in a planned series of top-level badges for partners that want to specialize more in specific technology areas.
A Houston-based Cisco partner Troubadour expects to go after the new Master Security specialization, as the new badge is "a testimony to us that we made the right decision to become a specialist." Troubadour made the decision to focus on security two years ago. The new specialization will serve to differentiate partners that have put a lot of skin into the Cisco security game, said Edison Peres, vice president and chief go-to-market officer for worldwide channels at Cisco, San Jose, Calif.
