Office 2007 Will Be Released In January
According to Amazon, Microsoft Office 2007 will ship on January 30, 2007. Although the price of the next Office upgrade was revealed about two months ago, a definite release date was not. Amazon`s pre-order listings for various Office 2007 editions, including Home and Student ($149) and Professional ($499) indicate that the software will be released on January 30, 2007.
Sean Sundwall, Amazon spokesperson said that the release dates were Amazon`s best estimates, based on conversations with Microsoft and other figures in the technology industry. Microsoft, however, has refused to confirm Amazon`s Vista pricing or the January 30 release dates.
Microsoft`s spokesperson responded: "It is still too premature for us to comment on the final pricing for Windows Vista. We plan to announce Windows Vista U.S. pricing when we ship Windows Vista RC1, sometime later this quarter. We are [also] not providing specific guidance on the availability date. The exact delivery date will be subject to achieving quality metrics based on customer feedback." Most analysts expect that Microsoft will unveil Windows Vista and Office 2007 simultaneously.
