Aplus.Net Bought by Venture Capitalist Group

Aplus.Net, a web hosting provider, has recently been acquired by New York-based Catalyst Investors for an undisclosed sum of money. The deal closed in late July and is expected to be a successful venture. Aplus.Net boasts a customer base of over 200,000 people of which 4,000 are dedicated server clientele. Additionally, the web host holds over half a million domains registered to date. Webmasters all over the world will agree that this is a major following and customer base for any web hosting company.

?Aplus.Net will be a much larger company (next year). There?s rapid growth, it has a very good business model? we?ll take advantage of that, caress it and (this) company will generate north of US 80 million dollars in revenues by next year. The opportunity is extremely compelling and there is (room) to consolidate the market,? said Gabriel Murphy about the purchase. Murphy considers this acquisition one of a platform rather than a company, and is planning on more acquisitions to complement it by the end of 2006.

The San Diego Business Journal recently listed Aplus.Net as one of San Diego?s fastest growing companies for the second consecutive year. It also ranks as one of the city?s 40 largest employers and, regarding revenue generation, is one of the top 50. Webmasters and online users will follow the development of this acquisition to see if Aplus.Net will really become the visionary company that Murphy says it will.
