Zango Might be Taking Affiliate Commissions from Webmasters
Zango, formerly known as 180 Solutions, a famous hi-tech company providing software solutions for webmasters, might be stealing affiliate commissions from adult webmasters. The claim cannot be confirmed at the moment, but many webmasters believe this to be true. Zango?s blog has also recently posted regarding cookies, stating that ?Zango does not read, alter, modify, or delete Web site or cookie content. Zango?does not alter, manipulate, or delete third-party affiliate referral tracking information.?
So who can know the truth? With having some bad publicity in the past, when the CDT filed its complaint to the Federal Trade Commission regarding 180 Solutions and their practices. A recent new practice for the company has heads spinning. When an infested user goes to a site or page with specific keywords, the site generates a popup window with the ?ad? in it. However, the ad is a disguise for something else. It is actually a redirect to a URL with a parameter indicating this is a referral from an affiliate ? the webmasters affiliate that bought the ad from Zango! It overwrites any other webmasters affiliate tracking code that the site was using.
In all business industries there are those who play by the rules, and those who do not. Whether or not Zango is breaking the rules of webmasters affiliate commissions is still unknown, what is clear, however, is that many adult webmasters feel that they are being seriously taken advantage of, and more simply put ? duped. Only time will reveal what Zango is really doing regarding affiliate commissions on its site and within its company.
