YouTube Not Only For Kids

The famous YouTube is known as the young generation favorite, but recently it has been clearer and clearer that the situation is slightly different than what most of us thought. Just as the overall Internet users division, the YouTube users are not only high school students.

50 percent of the YouTube viewers are between the ages of 18 and 49. Older fans are joining YouTube constantly thanks to its 8 million video clips archive. And now even more interesting innovations are attracting the mature users: nostalgic news reels, rare screen gems and instructional videos. In addition, YouTube collects the most viewed of its videos (such as Colbert Report and South Park clips) and top rated videos. Also 5 different languages were added, including German and Chinese.

YouTube`s videos are sorted by 12 different categories to make the search easier. So in order to find the video you are looking for fast, you will have to know what it is. In "Arts & Animation," for instance, there is a 7-minute clip of Disney`s 1928 Steamboat Willie, which is the first Mickey Mouse cartoon. There are also rare interviews of celebrities and politicians, sports games and TV entertainment shows. Some even become stars thanks to the YouTube. The most famous is actress Jessica Rose (known online as Lonelygirl15), whose fictional video diaries earned around 15 million collective page views.
