UK Firms to Invest in Online Marketing

According to a new survey by Google and Confederation of British Industry, the number of online purchases will jump to 3.3 billion pounds from its current 2.2 billion pound level. More and more people are using the internet for routine shopping, and the survey shows that British firms plan to invest large sums on online advertisement during the next few years.

The United Kingdom online marketing industry will see some 13 billion pounds heading its way in the course of the next three years, as British firms that were surveyed said the internet will be their main marketing platform. It seems that the internet is driving real change into businesses, and although the dot com bubble burst a few years ago, the change comes from the marketing prospective. Businesses change the way they think about marketing and the internet is slowly penetrating every field.

The survey also shows that an increasingly amount of people are using a broad-band connection to the web with 77 percent of firms and 44 percent of households using broadband. More people are using search engines, and buying products online, and it`s clear that people are using the internet as part of their daily routine. Everyday task are preformed online, and the use of the internet became more intuitive. The emergence of Web 2.0 platforms, such as blogs, podcasts and other online platforms has created many new marketing possibilities for businesses, and we will see new things in the near future as additional firms join virtual space.
