Security Crack in Firefox Discovered in Community Sites

The biggest complaint you would hear from people that recommend on using Mozilla`s Firefox as an alternative to Microsoft`s Internet Explorer has to do with security. Recent issues regarding online security that were attributed to the use of Internet Explorer has caused many people to look for alternatives, and Firefox was the most popular one. A newly discovered flaw in Firefox shows that not using Internet Explorer does not necessarily mean that you are immune to online fraud.

The security glitch in Firefox allows criminal-minded people to easily steal user information from websites where people create their own pages. This especially refers to community sites such as MySpace. Tracking the flaw down, analysts showed that Firefox`s Password Manager software has a serious security patch that allows people to exploit the information provided by the user upon the creation of such pages. Someone can ask Firefox for the password details, like MySpace would do, and the web-browser would fail to check whether the request is authentic. Although this clearly portrays Firefox is a bad light, Microsoft`s Internet Explorer does not have an answer for the issue as well.

Internet Explorer has the same glitch in security, but will be harder to fool. Microsoft`s browser does a through job at testing the log-ins of each site, and such online fraud will be harder to perform on an Internet Explorer user. IE has its own problems nonetheless. Keeping your eye open and avoiding giving crucial private information is the best thing any online user can do.
