Nvidia Releases DirectX 10 Graphic Processor

The graphics battles rage on with Nvidia Corp`s release of their new flagship chipset ? the GeForce 8800. The new chip is the first graphic processing unit that supports DirectX 10 functions, and marks the beginning of another chapter in the race for the ultimate graphics processor. Nvidia and the now AMD-owned ATI are in a constant battle to dominate the gamers market for many years now. The new GeForce 8800 is currently the new king of the chips world, but ATI`s response will soon be released as well, judging by past experience.

The new chip is causing a lot of commotion in the graphics world as it is the first DirectX 10 hardware chipset. Nvidia is preparing for the release of Microsoft`s new operating system, and the fact that DirectX 10 software is rounding the corner. The chipset will work with all DirectX 10 games once they hit the market, but also greatly improved all the games that are already available on the market today. The chip comes with a price tag of $599 for the muscle version and $499 for the tuned down card.

The GeForce 8800 carries more than 600 million transistors making it twice as powerful as Nvidia`s previous high-end chip, and more than twice as powerful as Intel`s top CPU model. The gamers` world is very demanding, and games need powerful hardware to support them. Nvidia`s new hardware also marks a new era in computer gaming, and the next round of games release, those based on DirectX 10, will bring us a completely new graphical experience.
