Xbox 360 to Hit Brazil Soon


Microsoft is finally brining Xbox to samba country, and fans of the console in Brazil will be able to buy it in their own country. Microsoft is predicting that Brazil can turn into their largest market in whole of Latin America for their Xbox 360 product. Currently Xbox 360 is sold in Colombia, Mexico and Chile, while more countries on the list. Microsoft is gearing up for its battle against Sony, with Playstation 3 rounding the corner. Both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are the new generation of gaming console, and the battle over the gaming market will be fierce.

Director of Microsoft`s Latin America Games and Entertainment Division, Daniel Cervantes, said that there are almost 600,000 gaming consoles sold in Brazil each year, and they are all provided by third party companies, and no manufacturers. Microsoft wants to manufacture Xbox 360 in Brazil and bring the product first-handedly to the many costumers. Additionally, analysts report that market volume in Brazil is estimated at 11 million prospect buyers.

The Brazilian Xbox 360 will feature a Portuguese interface, and will be sold for about 2,990 reais, which are roughly $1,399. Microsoft is planning on selling 10 million units of Xbox 360 globally by the end of 2006, with 10 percent of them originating of the sales are projected to originate in Latin America. Microsoft is already planning the Brazilian launch and will have 14 games ready for it. The games will be speaking Portuguese and will be available for the public along side the console.
