Microsoft Offers Free Vista for Holiday Shoppers
Although Microsoft`s new operating system won`t be released before January 2007, the software giant plans to make the best of the upcoming holiday season. Christmas time is known for its accompanied shopping craze, and Microsoft is not going to miss the party. People that buy a personal computer during the next holiday season will be offered highly affordable ?or even free- coupons for Vista upgrades. Windows XP will be installed on the computers, but the customers can use their coupons coming January, and get Vista for free.
This is a wonderful opportunity for buyers. If you want to take advantage of the holiday sales, but were worried about upgrading to Vista right after your purchase, then there are no worries any more. Microsoft is aggressively promoting their new deal, and said that it first it seems like it would have to move some of 2007`s revenue from the first fiscal quarter to the forth fiscal quarter of 2006. However, the overall fiscal year of 2007 won`t be impacted. Vista is scheduled for release in January 2007, but no official date has been given yet. Microsoft will launch the business version of the new operating system this November, but again, no real date has been provided.
A full version of Vista will sell for between $100 and $400 depending on the version. People that buy a computer and participate in the coupons promotion will be able to upgrade to Vista at less than $50, and some will be able to upgrade for free, depending on the hardware they bought, and the retailer.
