Novell and Microsoft Join Forces

Webmasters everywhere will be happy to know that Novell and Microsoft have decided to join forces in order to create open source solutions on Windows and Linux interoperability. A set of agreements have been outlined by the two software companies to market, build, and support a series of new solutions. These solutions will make the products of these companies work better together and be more compatible.

Microsoft and Novell customers and webmasters will also have patent coverage for their respective products, and will easily run software from both on the same system. Microsoft will recommend SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell for customers who want Linux and Windows products, and will distribute coupons for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server support and maintenance. The biggest impact of the agreement for the consumer is that Microsoft and Novell will work on their office productivity software. This means that OpenOffice and Microsoft Office users will be able to share documents more easily and seamlessly. Webmasters will also find this extremely helpful and convenient.

It is not surprising that these two companies have decided to work together. Many mergers and collaborative efforts are seen among the hi-tech industry as well as the online market, with webmasters and online business owners having a stronger and more substantial impact on the economy than ever before. Microsoft and Novell will surely offer a product that will offer the best solutions possible for their products.
