Hackers Exploit Flaw in Microsoft Word

If you think that using your computer for everyday office assignments such as word processing will keep your computer safe from online attacks, then apparently you are seriously mistaking. Last week Microsoft has announced that it`s software engineers are working in full throttle to deliver a patch for a recently discovered loop hole in their highly acclaimed word processing package, Microsoft Word.

The loophole in Microsoft`s word processing application enables hackers to carry out a sophisticated online attack. Microsoft plans to release a fix for the security glitch in Word XP and Word 2003 on June 13 to the latest. Microsoft has instructed customers to run Word in Safe Mode in order to avoid exploitation. The warning was issued after anti-virus companies have reported "spear phishing" attacks against their clients that originated in a flaw in Word that enabled hackers to plat Trojan horse programs.

For not the attacks are rated "low," and there is no need for alarm. The Word flaw is not known to many hackers, but once knowledge of the flaw circulates things might become hazardous. If you are using Word on a daily basis, then you should check Microsoft`s online site for updates regarding the matter.
