Canoo Releases New Ultra Light Client Ver

Ultra Light Client, the popular pure Java library for Rich Internet Application development, from Canoo Engineering got a brand new release last week. The new release focuses on easing the development of extensions for Ultra Light Client by focusing on an enhanced extension API.

"The new enhanced extension API makes the addition of GUI widgets and third party libraries much faster and easier," commented Dr. Elisabeth Maier, Canoo?s Product Manager for Ultra Light Client. "Adding new widgets or customizing existing widgets is now much simpler. This release marks a key milestone for Java-based RIA technologies and will appeal to all Java developers looking for a robust and reliable alternative to AJAX and Flex."

Further changes in 6.1 include a new user manual describing how to write extensions for Ultra Light Client, improved JavaDoc for client-side and server-side classes of the application and extension API, and improved support for blocking events.
