Microsoft Gets OK for MSN in Vista

Microsoft`s Vista is up for a huge release this January, and many people wonder what will be Microsoft`s approach towards search ending technologies and the implementation of those in its new operating system.
Microsoft is known for taking features that are available from third parties and integrating them directly into its operating systems. Many companies have been crying foul over this strategy by Microsoft for years, saying that it stiffles competition and is unfair.

This week however, the US Justice Department determined that Microsoft is doing no wrong by incorporating MSN search into Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7. The federals argue that users can disable the MSN search and use another search by default if they so choose. IE7 will come ready to use MSN search by default and will also be bundled with Vista. Google recently started advocating FireFox as the browser of choice, and FireFox also happens to use Google`s search as its default search box. It is no coincidence that FireFox does not come with Vista.

Google recently threw its arms up in the air, complaining that Microsoft will unfairly enable its MSN search technology directly into Vista. Google says that doing so will prevent users from choosing to use other available search technologies. Google currently reigns as number one for online search and has Google Desktop, an offline local search application that users can install into their computers.
