Panda Software Issues Free Browser Warning
A new tool that portraits itself as a tool for privacy protection is, in fact, something else completely. Panda Software, world leader in internet security, announced this week that a new free web browser that`s being distributed online is actually harmful. Browsezilla, the free web browser The web browser is a click-fraud engine for pornographic websites.
The free web browser, that uses a Lizard-like mascot that reminiscent of the open-source Mozilla browser, claims to cover the tracks of users that use it for web access. If a user wants to cover his tracks when surfing pornographic web sites, then he should use Browsezilla, but in fact a secret software is installed that boosts the page view counts on certain pornographic web sites.
Panda Software issued the warning after realizing that the browser`s developers are working deceptively and that users` privacy can be in danger. The Browsezilla team called Panda`s allegations "unsubstantiated" in a statement on the Browsezilla web site, but the group shed little light on the situation when asked for further comment on Panda`s press release.
