Google Signs Distribution Deal with Adobe
Online information service provider, Google, has signed a deal with software developer Adobe Systems to distribute the Web search leader`s software. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed but Google will pay Adobe a "significant" amount. All new users of Adobe`s Shockwave multimedia playback software will get Google`s software with their software bundle.
Adobe announced on its site that the Google deal displaces a previous agreement with rival Yahoo. Adobe planned to deliver Yahoo search software when users download Shockwave, but now Adobe chose to work with market leader Google. According to the new deal, users will receive a free version of the Google Toolbar Web search software with every Shockwave download.
Google is working very hard to distribute their software and wants to make sure that many different audiences pre-install Google`s software. "We`re excited to partner with Adobe to make these features available to their users, and look forward to finding other ways to work together," Google said in a statement. Google races to make users feel comfortable with their software and wants users to become accustomed to working with its software. Microsoft will release their new operating system in the beginning of 2007 and it will bring many integrated features. Google wants to gain hold of the market before that happens.
