Internet Entertainment Consumption to Reach New Levels
The amount of money that people spend on the net is overwhelming. There are so many online services and entertainment options that people spend more money on the internet than ever before. The internet is becoming the first source for all media consumption by users and more entertainment channels are developed all the time. Analysts estimate that global entertainment spending will reach $1.8 trillion in 2010 as more broadband and wireless technologies hit the market.
By 2010 there will be much more people using broadband connections and entertainment consumption will increase greatly. Double-digit increases are expected in all Internet, television distribution, video games, and casino and other regulated gaming. China is expected to surpass Japan as the largest market for media and entertainment in Asia. The world of entertainment will change drastically in the next four years.
Consumption of entertainment media will increase due to improving economic conditions in developing markets. More people will be able to afford all sorts of media consumption and total revenues will increase. The fact that high-level technology is reaching more countries makes it easier for content to be distributed and therefore consumed.
