Yahoo Helps Bono Promote Anti Poverty Site
Lead singer for the popular rock and pop band U2, Bono, is well known for his interest in global issues. Bono was very successful in brining Africa and its troublesome situation to mainstream attention, and now the online giant Yahoo is coming to his aid to fight poverty. Yahoo will transform Bono`s site into an online community that deals with poverty issues and the way of solving them.
"We are really proud of this one," said Meg Garlinghouse, head of Yahoo for Good division, told AFP. "It shows that you are part of a larger community and it isn`t just you raising your voice." The new Yahoo-powered site includes podcasts, blogs, and many other resources. Bono has been working very hard to promote his One: The Campaign to Make Poverty History agenda and the internet is the perfect platform for it.
Many other supports joined the online enterprise with Microsoft`s Bill Gates named as one of the supports. Everyone who wants to join the fight and express his feeling regarding the issue can log into the site and become a part of the online community.
