Google To Release Spreadsheet Program

Google has announced that they are not planning on issuing their own web browser, but that doesn?t mean that their battle with Microsoft is over. The online search giant has announced this week the future release of an online spreadsheet program that will take on one of Microsoft`s flagship products, Microsoft Excel. The new application will offer consumers and businesses a free alternative to Microsoft`s Excel.

Although Google`s spreadsheet program won`t be as sophisticated as Microsoft Excel, it will give people an free alternative. Google will offer their program as an online service that makes it available easily and much faster than Microsoft`s solution. Google`s program won`t offer users the use of charts or pull-down menus as the main goal of the application is to enable users to gain access to the same worksheets from different places.

While Google expands their offerings into Microsoft-dominated fields, the software giant isn`t sitting still and invests tremendous resources into Internet research. With Microsoft Vista`s release early 2007 the competitive landscape is about to change, as analysts say.
