Pay Per Click Fraud Costs Too Much
Advertising online is one of the most affective ways of promoting one`s products or agenda. In recent years a new advertising culture has developed ? keywords based advertising. Search engine companies, such as Google and Yahoo, are offering advertisers to place ads for online users based on the type of keywords that the specific user is attribute to have used.
This method promises advertisers to promote products for users that might be interested in their offerings and users usually gets to see advisement for products that interest them. Google, Yahoo, and other companies that offer such services charge advertisers by clicks. "Pay-per-Click" means that you pay only for people who actually clicked on your ad.
The problem is that rival companies have found ways, mainly by using online robots, to click ads of business rivals and make them pay for false users. A new study shows that 800 million dollar are wasted each year on false and fake "users" that allegedly clicked on certain ads, and that nearly 15 percent of ad clicks are frauds, Outsell estimated based on a survey of 407 US advertisers in May. As long as you can get paid for generating a click or harm your competitor with a click that has no value, the pay-per-click system will be gamed."
