CrossOver to Enable Windows Apps to Run on Mac
Apple`s decision to incorporate Intel chips into Macintosh computers has brought many changes. Not long ago Apple release Boot Camp, a program that enbabls owners on an Intel powered Mac to run Windows, and this week another application that bridges across the platforms hit the market. CodeWeavers announced that they plan to release their CrossOver application.
CrossOver will sell for $60 and by installing it on an Intel powered Mac, users are able to run Windows applications without needing to install the actual operating system. ?What you see running is an application sitting in your Dock or your Applications folder,? Chief Operating Officer Jon Parshall told Macworld.
CrossOver and Boot Camp interest the world of gamers most of all. Running Windows applications on Mac will mean that pc games that are mainly targeted at the Windows driven market will be available for Mac users as well. There are only a limited number of games that CrossOver will support, but that can change soon.
