School to be Sold on eBay

People say that you can find everything you want on eBay. The online auctions web giant has millions of active auctions featured all the time and it is said that people can offer and buy anything. The local officials in the rural Alaskan town of King Cove have put an old school up for sale on the auctions webpage and are hoping to raise $1.8 million.

"We have salmon, halibut, cod, crab, pollock, sablefish that`s right outside the front door of the school," said borough representative Karen Montoya. eBay is one of the most successful online services and there are many success stories linked with the site. The people over at King Cove are hoping that their school will become another eBay success story.

Dean Jutilla, eBay representative, said that he is not aware of any other school that listed for online purchase on the site, although many state and local governments have turned o the online auctions service to sell property. "I don`t recall off the top of my head. But that doesn`t mean it hasn`t happened," he said.
