MacWorld Conference To Showcase MacScan


The new year always brings with it conferences for all types of industries, and the world of Macintosh is one of them. The MacWorld SF conference will feature all things Macintosh related, from software to hardware and everything that comes in between. SecureMac, a software company creating cutting edge security solutions for Apple Macintosh computers. The company is pleased to announce it will be attending MacWorld SF from January 9-13, where it will be presenting the company`s latest security product, MacScan 2.0. This second generation of MacScan is designed to shield computers running Mac OS X in both regular and classic environments from spyware. SecureMac released the original version in 2002 for Mac OS 9, it was the first software of its kind available for the Macintosh.

President and CEO Nicholas Raba commented that they are excited to bring this next-generation security product to the Macintosh community. It feels great to be able to provide such a great user base with state of the art protection against spyware, enhancing their privacy and security. Apple Macintosh users have enjoyed less exposure to security threats than their Microsoft Windows-based counterparts, however viruses, spyware and security flaws still exist. MacScan plays a vital role in protecting users from today`s existing threats and provides a platform to fight against those which will those continuing threats.

MacScan 2.0 will be shown at Booth 950 in the Exhibit Hall from January 9 to 13, at the Moscone Center, San Fransisco. Clients of SecureMac may email e-mail protected from spam bots to obtain a complimentary exhibit hall pass to Macworld SF. MacScan is a Mac OS X software product that detects, isolates and removes spyware and remote administration utilities. Using both real-time spyware definition updating and unique detection methods, MacScan quickly identifies a wide variety of spyware that can compromise the privacy and security of the Macintosh user. Three unique scans allow the user to scan their home folder, all system files, or specific folders, drives or devices. When spyware is detected, MacScan lets the user choose to isolate the spyware files in a single location, where they can be analyzed or removed from the system. In addition to scanning for spyware, MacScan also has the ability to purge Internet-related files created by web-browsers.
