Podcasts on Your Cell Phone

Podcasts are the biggest things to hit the earphones since, well since the iPod. Everyone is either podcasting or listening to their favorite pod shows. There are podcasts for almost every topic under the sun, and for those of you who don`t have an mp3 player there is a solution for you. SnapVine today launched a new service that allows anyone to listen to podcasts from any phone, regardless of model or mobile operator. Previously, to listen to a podcast on a mobile phone you would need an iPod or a specialized smartphone. Today, Snapvine has opened up podcasting for the masses.

?SnapVine makes podcasting available to people with ordinary phones, that?s over 192 million people in the USA alone,? says Joe Heitzeberg, CEO of SnapVine.com. SnapVine lets users listen to podcast content from providers such as ESPN, CNN, National Public Radio and more just by registering on SnapVine.com and placing a call.

Users of SnapVine can search a directory of podcasts, or directly enter the RSS feed of any podcast they want to listen to. They can then dial in to listen to their podcast instantly, without syncing over the air or installing any specialized software on their mobile device. Other services launched today to mark the debut of SnapVine include SnapVine Message Calls?, a service that lets users pick amusing content clips to send to friends over regular phone calls, and SnapVine Voice Forums?, a community voice bulletin board system.
