Queen of England`s Speech on Podcast

For the first time, the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, will appear on an internet podcast. The Queen`s traditional Christmas speech will be available online on the official United Kingdom Royalty site and offered for free download. Users will be able to access the site and watch the speech online, or read a text version of the speech as well. The Queen will speak on the importance of relationship between the generations on December 25, and using the web to appeal for the younger generation is a great idea.

The podcast will also contain footage of the Queen while chatting to schoolchildren, and of course the actual speech. For the second time, the Queen also recorded a speech for the armed forces, and it will be broadcast separately. Podcasts are becoming more and more popular all over the world. As more people use personal media players, the demand for free video content increases all the time. Almost all of companies that offer personal media players, are also offering some sort of online download service for podcasts and other free media content.

There are millions of podcast available throughout the web, and it will be interesting to see how many people download the Queen`s speech off the web. If this initiative is marked as a success, it will show that getting the attention of the younger public through the web is working. Either way, people will be able to watch the Queen`s speech on all other media platforms like always.
